Information and Partnering Event – "Side-channel attacks with quantum sensing" (SCA-QS)

The research project “Side-channel attacks with quantum sensing” (SCA-QS) aims to identify potential new attack vectors on microchips using quantum sensors. In principle, quantum sensors (QS) have the potential of measuring physical parameters with higher resolution, sensitivity or otherwise better. Therefore, the suitability of different physical quantum sensor approaches for side channel attacks (SCA) on microchips will be evaluated, and compared to an analysis of the same chips with current SCA methods. In addition, the project aims to bring together experts from the fields of quantum sensing and side-channel attacks in order to facilitate a long-term exchange. The project will initially focus on identifying and researching the fundamental suitability of quantum sensor technology for side-channel attacks and subsequently developing promising approaches. The targeted technology readiness level (TRL) at the end of the project is 3 to 4, depending on the technology.

The event aims to introduce the Cyberagentur and the research project, to provide information about the organizational aspects of the tender process, as well as bringing together experts from the fields of quantum sensing and side-channel attacks, also in view of the potential formation of consortia.

Preliminary Agenda

  1. Introduction of Cyberagentur
  2. Introduction of the research project
  3. Information about the tender and procurement platform
  4. Introduction of the participants
  5. Q&A

Introductory Round

Per participant:

  • One PowerPoint slide (you will receive a template after registration) with the most important facts and contact details of the participants, which can then be made available for mutual exchange
  • A maximum of 2 to 3 minutes speaking time, depending on the number of participants (to be specified after the registration deadline)

The target groups of the event are scientists, start-ups, companies, universities and research institutes that are either involved in quantum sensor technology (regardless of the specific design) and/or physical side-channel attacks on microchips (regardless of the specific design) and would be interested in such a tender.

We would like to point out that, for reasons of public procurement law, no specific or detailed questions on the exact procedure of the tender or on contractual and IP law regulations can be answered at the event.

Please register until 5 June 2024 using this form.

The submission deadline for the presentation slides is 7 June 2024.
