The Year 2025 is All About Quantum Science! As part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, we warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the World Quantum Day at Urania Berlin. Look forward to a diverse program in both German and English that brings science to you – with an interactive exhibition, exciting workshops, the fantastic return of the QuanTour Source, and an entertaining Science Slam.

3:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Exhibition
Dive into the fascinating world of quantum physics. Explore exhibits on QuanTour, Q-Bus, RETHINKING PHYSICS, The Science Talk, AQLS (Advanced Quantum Light Sources) and many other exciting topics.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Student Workshops
Young quantum enthusiasts (10th grade and above) can take a deeper dive into the quantum world. Participate in workshops such as “Quantum Cryptography Protocol BB84” by Q-Bus or “Quantum Jumps in Gold Nanowires” by the University of Duisburg-Essen. Registration is required.
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Return of the QuanTour Source
QuanTour is the unique journey of a quantum light source across Europe. Be part of its exciting return to its origin in Berlin. The afternoon begins with an inspiring talk by Oliver Benson, followed by a report on QuanTour by Doris Reiter, Tobias Heindel, and Pranoti Kshirsagar. The highlight will be the arrival of the quantum source. Afterwards, join us for networking and snacks. Registration is required.
7:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Quantum Science Slam
Experience science with humor and creativity! Enjoy an entertaining evening presented by outstanding science slammers. Young researchers compete to see who can present their work in the most understandable and entertaining way—in just ten minutes and with all the tools a big stage can offer. The audience’s applause determines the winner, but everyone will win, because Science Slam is science with passion.
